In the last eight years I have used multiple tools to achieve my blogging success. From the beginning using Blogger and then a few years ago moving to Typepad I have learned a tremendous about of information about blogging and blogging platforms. I also have leaned on others to help me hack my way through to get a blog that looks halfway presentable.
Early this year I seriously considered moving to WordPress, but was uncertain if I had the technical abilities to pull it off. Recently, I realized that if I continue to ask the right questions and move it in steps than I can pull of off.
Here is my process of migration to WordPress:
1. Secure my own domain name
2. Update my blog feed
3. Move Content to a hosted WordPress blog
