A Word from the Editor

December 23, 2007 · 9 comments

To all my friends and readers of this blog, I wanted to update you of the family events that have taken place over the last four days. Tuesday evening we received a phone call that no one wants to receive. My twenty-nine year old brother-n-law, and the only brother of my wife was tragically killed in a horrific automobile accident. As you can imagine, the unexpected tragedy has been more than what our family can bear.

While we have been inundated by an outpouring of love and support from our closest friends and family I’ve decided to take the next week and spend time to grieve and heal with my wife and daughters. My intentions are to begin blogging at the start of the new year.

In this season of peace and giving, your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated. To all of you who have subscribed over the last year as well as left thought provoking comments, thank you. I look forward to more conversations in the upcoming year.

Peace!

    David,
As ever your actions are congruent with your expressed beliefs. My heart goes out to her and the rest of your family

    Remember the many
    compartments of the heart,
    the seed of what is
    possible. So much of who
    we are is defined by
the places we hold for each
other. For it is not our ingenuity
that sets us apart, but our
    capacity for love, the
    possibility our way will
be lit by grace. Our hearts
    prisms, chiseling out the
    colors of pure light.

“Celebrating” at this time seems so inappropriate when one hears of these types of stories. Over the course of the last couple of days, I have heard of several terrible stories, which allows me to take stock, appreciate what I have — even if I have had to leave my wife in the hospital for these two weeks while I take the kids on holiday. Anyway, thoughts are sent your way from across the ocean.
