Over the past few weeks I’ve been thinking a lot about execution. Obviously, I’m not the only one. Today Mitch Joel wrote about Ideas vs. Execution.
Working in an industry that has a reputation for generating brilliant ideas, at the end of the day it’s about executing that idea.Great ideas are only as good as their execution. We don’t celebrate the idea or the strategy. The reward is granted when it’s executed.
I sat down in early December and wrote out a list of goals that I wanted to accomplish in 2010. So far I’ve been able to look back and track what I’ve accomplished, as well as the things that are still waiting for my attention.
The ideas that are celebrated are the ideas I’ve executed.
What keeps us from execution our ideas?
Some times it’s the simple ideas that change everything!

What idea are you refusing to work on?
What keeps you from contacting the individual that may be a bridge to executing your idea?
What blog post are you struggling with writing?
What phone call or email do you keep putting off?
What project do you keep putting off?
Over the next seven days what would happen if you would integrate an execution plan for all of your ideas? You probably would be amazed at the momentum that would happen just from a little bit of energy.
Commit yourself to action. It’s the missing link between an idea and shipping that idea.
What keeps you from executing your ideas?
