I seem to always be promoting the work of others that I forget to sometimes to promote some of my own work. Over the winter I rolled out a new design to davidsfinch.com thanks to the help of Brandon Stephens and Stephens Photography + Design. It’s been a process that has evolved into what you see today.
After hearing all the favorable reviews of Thesis on WordPress, I moved this blog from Typepad to WordPress. After a few months using Thesis (affiliate link) it’s everything that it’s advertised to be. The small investment that you’ll make is worth every penny when you begin to see the results in search engine optimization. My search traffic has increased substantially just by moving this blog to WordPress powered by Thesis.
I also realized that many are reading blogs from mobile and portable devices and I didn’t want to lose readers because my site wasn’t optimized for mobile devices. You now can read davidsfinch.com from an iPhone, Blackberry, Android, iPod Touch and most mobile devices. I’ve been pleasantly surprised just be optimizing this site for mobile devices that the increase in traffic that has happened just providing a mobile experience.
Like a new coat of paint in your home, a new car or a new pair of shoes, a new look to your blog can revitalize your blogging efforts. In the process, it also can bring greater clarity to your own publishing network.
If this is your first time seeing the new look, your feedback and comments are welcome.
