Recharge and Refuel for Maximum Productivity

July 5, 2010 · 2 comments

The biggest challenge to maximum productivity is burnout. Let’s face it, we are overworked. We take on to many projects and we are afraid to say, “NO!” The bottom line is, when you over-commit it’s a guarantee that something is going to slip through the cracks. It also can cause you to not be as effective in executing your disciplines.

I’ve notice that when I can get away from the noise I’m able to think with greater clarity and deliver precise execution.

Recharge and Refuel

What do you do to recharge? Do you have mini refueling stations that you visit on a regular basis? What are the benefits that you notice?

I have two ways of recharging. One is during the week I get together with friends for dinner at someone's house. It's a time when I make a point to put away the iPhone and talk about random things in life and not anything remotely work related.

Also when I visit my fiancee. She gives me a hard time when I'm online when I'm there or if I decide to tweet on my Phone while we're having one of our brief weekend visits. Her enforcing me to step away from work for just a day or so helps me recharge my mind a bit and be that much more effective when I get back to my work the following Monday.

Drew, I like the weekly dinner with friends as a way to recharge. Some times it's the people that we are the closest to that can add fuel to goals and the things that we are passionate about.

    Thanks for sharing!
